ESSENCE Honors Black Women In The Sports Industry Ahead Of The Big Game

The ESSENCE Black Women In Sports Franchise is back and continuing their celebration of Black women in the sports industry with their upcoming, Touchdowns and Turn Up, virtual pre-show watch party honoring two iconic Black women making waves in the sports industry this Sunday!

Streaming from New Orleans this time, the franchise will be honoring, Coach Collette V. Smith, the first Black female coach in professional football, as well as agent Nicole Lynn for their contributions to the sports industry. The awards ceremony will take place during the Pre-Show Sunday 2/12 at 1PM CST and will be highlighted during the post show on Monday at 2/13 at 5PM CST streaming on Essence.com.

Programming for the overall event will include:

–        Black Women In Sports Awards Ceremony

–        Comedic breakdown of football rules & terms

–        Celebrity/expert interviews

–        Audience, “Ear To The Streets” Interviews

–        Surprise celebrity words of encouragement

–        Game day and half-time show predictions

The Essence Black Women In Sports franchise spotlights courageous Black women who serve as a catalyst for change and are making waves in the business of sports to create opportunities for future talent on and off the field/court.
