As an adjunct professor, consultant and researcher culture and education remains two salient and very important topics to discuss and explore. Thus, college students’ perceptions about the connection plus relationship of both, became a topic of pursuit in their English Composition Course. Students defined the culture and education and applied these constructs to their research about Africa, African America, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Puerto Rico. Their findings appear to indicate the need and interest to learn more about these countries. Such interest included, but was not limited to, healing, identity, self worth and transformation. These psychological constructs have critical and psychological ramifications for college students especially those studying English as a second language. Learning more about their own culture, education and language appeared helpful and useful as a learning tool for present as well as future educational success in America.
