US Keeps Dozens Haitians in Prison

The US immigration system keeps about 30 Haitian people in Florida who managed to survive from last January 12 earthquake and reached this country by the navy airplanes.
    The immigrants were arrested as soon as they touched the US land lacking their visas and has remained in confinement for over two months without receiving special attention, referred The New York Times.
    Many of the Haitians imprisoned were at Port au Prince airport looking for food, security and medical assistance when the US Army planes began to evacuate the people after the earthquake.
    The US authorities put them under federal custody as soon as they reached the country but they can not send them back because of the White House order to stop deportations to Haiti, referred the rotary.
    The immigration system refused to accept the demands of prisoners' relatives who want to take care of them or the nationwide psychotherapist, who offered to give assistance in prison, added the newspaper.
